And this year's two cents ...
Wire in the Blood
Original Sign-Up: I love the complexities of Tony's psychology. Something delving into his thoughts would be fantastic - particularly as they relate to his (in)ability to form relationships - either friendship or romantic/erotic with any of these ladies. Or several of them at once if you're ambitious. Or his thoughts upon their relationships with each other.
Further Thoughts: The finale left us in such a dark place - it would be lovely to take off from there and show the repercussions and a path back toward recovering the stability and growth Tony had started to achieve. Alternately there's that always persistent question - why did Carol leave and how might she come back? And, where did all the queer characters from the books disappear to in the show? Bringing Paula's lesbianism back into the storyline, or writing her or the other characters with other queer desires would be very welcome.
Le Pacte des Loups | Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001)
Original Sign-Up: I would love Mani/Gregoire, or Mani/Gregoire/Marianne - especially set after the movie in an AU where Mani survives. But any chance to revisit these characters would be wonderful.
Further Thoughts: I miss these characters. It's a shame I only get to see them once a year, but if you decide to take them out to play, I'd love to see what you do :)
Peaches for Monsieur le Curé - Joanne Harris
Original Sign-Up: I would love something set in Lansquenet after the story ended. Pick and mix pretty much any pairing (Vianne/Josephine, Vianne/Roux, Josephine/Francis Reynaud), but regardless, I just really wanted to hear more of what happened next.
Further Thoughts: This is my only completely new request. Joanne Harris' third book set in the Chocolat universe, and I just adore them all - all the people, the town of Lansquenet, the magical realism that blows people and events toward their destiny, and perhaps most importantly - the sights, smells, and tastes of the South of France. In Chocolat fic I shipped Vianne/Josephine, but I was surprised at how much I liked Josephine/Francis Reynaud in this installment - but I've always liked Vianne/Roux and Vianne/tricky wind as well. Do what you will - no pairings, these pairings, put them all together and have a chocolate-fueled orgy. But in any case, I would love an opportunity to live in this story world for a bit longer, and taste something delicious.
Casino Royale Verse
Original Sign-Up: James/M makes my heart go pitter-pat.
Further Thoughts: I adore that in the films M is the only one who really sees through and knows James - and he dances so beautifully within her control. At the moment she uses that relationship and trust to protect him from some of his own worst impulses, but he needs more, (more what? affection? connection? reciprocity? security? consequences?), and I'd love to see her give it to him.
Also, I haven't seen the new movie yet, but I will certainly do so in the next couple weeks, as I hear it should be deliciously rife with Bond/M vibes, so feel free to include details from there. Here is my old Quantum of Solace Review which also includes more of my Bond/M thoughts. I may update once I see the new film.
