I Was There!
Jun. 3rd, 2008 11:24 pmSo I voted for Hillary in the primary, but I am first and foremost a Democrat (well, in MN it's actually the Democrat-Farmer-Labor party) and I always planned to support whoever we decided to run, so I am completely pleased to have been at the rally when Obama won the nomination. I went with
marainsanity and we waited for 3 hours in a line that went literally all across downtown St. Paul. So worth it. I'm still not terribly impressed by the essential nature of political rhetoric so I'm quite cynical about the sound bite-y nature of speeches, but I'm so thrilled to be a small part of the process of reclaiming the white house and electing a historic candidate. I made this icon at the start of the war and I trust him to do his best to end it. I trust him to work with congress to restore civil liberties, reform the tax system to repeal those horrendous cuts for the wealthy, and work on energy and the environment. Go us. Here comes November.
