You know what's weird?
Sep. 12th, 2004 05:30 pm-When you don't want to see someone, they're suddenly everywhere. When you do, getting an hour in their schedule is suddenly impossible.
-When I was a college undergrad, I spent a great deal of class time trying to be invisible and say as little as possible. Now I have to do all the talking. I still go through the same post-game dissection of everything I said to make sure I didn't sound like a dork.
-Why is it the projects I'm best qualified to write that are hardest to pin down? I've been trying to write my dissertation plan since March. It's due in December, so no worries there, I'm just frustrated with myself. I am not the work. I am not my job. I am not my fucking khakis.
-Fresh flowers and a poster on the wall make all the difference between an apartment and my apartment.
-No matter how many bills are in my name or how much big, grown-up furniture I buy, I still feel like I'm playing fort or house or something and my real adult life is far far in the future.
